THEY. ARE. AWFUL!!!

Whenever I dare to listen to John Sterling and Suzy Waldman call a Sox/Yanks game on the CBS 880 online feed, they drive me absolutely bananas within 1 inning of listening to them.

I know most radio announcers are homers, but Sterling and Waldman? They take homerism to new levels and heights with each and every game.

Today, the last regular season Sox/Yanks game in Yankee Stadium, they’ve been literally whining and complaining like liitle, spoiled kids all day. When the Yanks couldn’t drive in any runs in the 5th with 1 out and runners on the corners, they kept going ON AND ON about how that’s the season in a nut shell. Fine to mention it, but they mentioned it non-stop all the way into the 7th.

And when Pedroia wasn’t called out when he may or may not have stepped out of the base path, they went BALLISTIC. They sounded like a couple of belligerent bleacher creatures, some drunk husband and wife teams in the seats that can’t let a play or a call die. They went on and on complaining about the call, and completely ignored what was happening in the game presently.

I almost thought they were going to step out of the booth, walk down to the field, and give the umps a piece of their mind. Now that I would have likes to have seen/heard.

But basically, Sterling and Waldman can GFT for being the worst homer announcers in the league BY A MILE.

Do you think Yankee fans who tune into WRKO think the same things about Castiglione? I seriously doubt it.

From the Clemens return to the pitiful tearful Torre departure, they have proven to be the WORST in the biz!  I’d even take an hour of Joe Morgan’s “I was a much better player than this guy” game calling or Tim McCarvers “I can’t remember anyone’s name and it seems like I don’t even follow baseball” routine.

It is a beautiful thing, the Yankee booth reflects the team...both surface appealing but reek to high hell when it comes to getting in the trenches and performing.

Most home town announcer crews are annoying, especially to non-fan listeners.  NESN broadcast drives everyone crazy with the exception of Boston fans.

Hands down, with the possible exception of that dick on YouTube ("and he does that..."), the Skanks’ tubular tandem sucks the sweaty side of the poll, draggin’ teeth the whole length.
